1993: The Beginning
Jeannine Forget has always loved fashion. That's why, when she found herself with an opporunity to pivot careers, she opened Forget-Me-Nots' first location in Cape Elizabeth. Inspired by a high-end consignment shop in Toronto, she sought to create a space that brought designer clothing, shoes, and accessories together at affordable prices.
Growing FMN
Realizing the demand for both consigning and purchasing gently used fashions, Jeannine, along side her daughter MJ, opened a second location in Falmouth in 1998. As the business grew, they would ultimately move three more times to shops along Route 1 in Falmouth. In total, Forget-Me-Nots has had five locations, with our current store the biggest yet!
Today
Today, MJ runs the day-to-day operations of the store with the help of her staff. Forget-Me-Nots has over 12,000 consigners, and has sold roughly half a million items in its 30+ years.
